BABCNE is a Member of the BABC network

Welcome! Thank you for visiting this site, which I hope, will be of interest and a useful resource as you explore transatlantic business opportunities. Historical events have forged strong links between our two nations, with recent world developments cementing them further.

You may know that the US is the largest overseas investor in the UK and receives more than 40% of US investment in Europe. US companies provide employment for about a million people in the UK, and UK companies employ about a million in the US.

The Council's focus is to "Facilitate Transatlantic Trade" through networking in a variety of venues. Our activities aim to assist the establishment of ongoing relationships between companies' from the UK looking to expand into the US, and US companies looking to expand into the UK.

The Board of Directors works to keep the Council relevant to our members in the present climate of change and limited corporate dollars and time. We aim to provide member with events were they can have fun, whilst acquiring "Value added" benefits for their companies. Click here for suggestions on " How to make the most of your Membership".

To give you more value for your membership, we are:

  • Regularly surveying samples of members to ascertain their needs and satisfaction with the Council's products and services
  • Linking you with the BABC J1 visa service, which makes it easier and quicker for companies to bring over personnel from parent companies in the UK for training purposes
  • We are collaborating with other professional organizations and business associations e.g. Life Science’s sector to expand your networking opportunities
  • Establishing collaborations with local universities
  • Encouraging members to market their services by offering Member Discounts to members of the BABC network both in the US and UK

Events

The aim is to provide you with what you tell us you want, namely business leads, contacts and referrals in a congenial setting.

We do this through:

  • "Fun" events which encourage networking e.g. polo matches, after hours networking events, wine & beer tastings
  • Informational venues offering practical assistance to member companies such as: Economic forecasts, Immigration updates, Interactive trade seminars e.g. "UK open for business" with panelists from companies who have succeeded in the given market
  • Special events like the Annual Christmas luncheon which provides members with an opportunity for client or staff appreciation, company gathering etc.
  • We encourage member companies to market their companies through the underwriting of events or speakers of note such as Sir Tim Berners-Lee, Inventor of the World Wide Web and are happy to work with them to insure that their marketing/ public relations needs are met through their involvement
  • Providing extended networking opportunities through collaborations with other non-profit associations

We can help further help you with your business ventures by:

  • Helping to "open doors" through our extensive network of business and community contacts in this area and in the BABC network in the US and UK
  • Introduce you to your target contacts at events
  • Referring your company whenever an opportunity presents itself to both members and non-members
  • By working closely with the British Consulate-General and various government agencies in the area, we provide regular communications on issues, ranging from economic and general news from the UK, new products, to trade fares and cultural events both in the US and UK.
  • We regularly disseminate updates on Membership Benefits and 'Perks" both electronically and through special mailings

We are always glad to hear from you, so do contact us with your ideas and suggestions and/or if you would like to become more involved in the association.

I look forward to being of assistance to you and welcoming you to our events.

With best regards,

Urszula Wojciechowska
