BABCNE provides a series of trade-related services to help Members enhance their competitiveness in the global marketplace by:
- Helping to "open doors" through our extensive network of business and community contacts in this area and in the BABC network in the US and UK
- Introduce you to your target contacts at events
- Referring your company whenever an opportunity presents itself to both members and non-members
- By working closely with the British Consulate-General and various government agencies in the area, we provide regular communications on issues, ranging from economic and general news from the UK, new products, to trade fares and cultural events both in NE, the US and UK.
- We regularly disseminate updates on Membership Benefits and "Perks" both electronically and through special mailings
Information Service
The BABCNE office can assist with a variety of general and trade inquiries through its extensive contacts in both the UK & US government agencies and other international and local associations and organizations.
These include:
- The BritishAmerican Business, Inc. (BABi) Information Department in London
- The American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAMS) network operating in 76 countries
- The British American Business Council (BABC) network in US and UK
- American Business Information Center (ABIC) of the American Embassy's Commercial Service in UK
- The British Consulate network in the US including UK Trade & Investment
Trade & Investment Policy Committee
The BABC network, of which the BABCNE is a member, maintains a US Trade and Investment Policy Committee, based in Washington, D.C., to monitor policy issues on behalf of its membership. The Committee provides a forum for discussion of trade and investment policy issues, provides advice and information to the BABC's member associations on such issues, and provides action recommendations, as appropriate, to the BABC's Executive Committee.
As a result of the Committee's initiatives, the BABC has taken a position on a number of issues of relevance to its member companies, including "Fast Track", US Competitiveness/ H1 Visas, US/UK Tax Treaty, and Rules of Origin.
The Committee consists of senior corporate executives of US and UK firms that are directly involved in transatlantic policy issues, as well as representatives of the US and British governments.
Leadership in the Global Business Alliance of New England, Inc.
BABCNE is a founding member of the Global Business Alliance of New England (GBANE). As such, it collaborates with other New England-based international business associations on events that increase international networking opportunities for members. GBANE is spearheaded by BABCNE's Executive Director. Details of the Alliance can be found on www.gbane.org.
